Gain = Loss

The day she turned eighteen

Fell into my arms

Was the day my heart lost its

Dearest best friend

When his daughter chose me

To be her first lover

Begged me to pluck her from

Her father’s garden

My name she would not wear

Upon her caboose

Nor my ring upon her finger

She didn’t want to be

Collared or bare my children

Her time as my boy

Toy was only to be tempoary
