Before He Said Good-bye

When he visited his mom

On leave from

The Navy for the first time

He met her

Roommate a gorgeous lass

With raven hair

a slender hourglass figure

Who knew how

To push his buttons by the

Way she dressed

As a well taught gentleman

He pretended

Not to notice played along

With her little

Game until the last night of

His leave when

The house was deathly quite

Between the sheets

Of her bed he silently slipped

As she took him

Into her arms she whispered

Ever so softly

What took you so long sailor?
